After so much depressing news about the recession and declining interest in real estate along the Sea to Sky Corridor, things are definitely picking up.

There is quite a bit of well-priced inventory on the market, and savvy purchasers are picking up great deals for investment properties, first-time purchases, or upgrading to a bigger home with better features to accommodate a growing family....or growing inventory of sports equipment and toys!

There are new condo and townhome projects featuring great lifestyle opportunities in a more affordable price range than has been seen in years. And with interest rates still remaining low...but not expected to stay that way forever...it's a good time to buy.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the HST is coming to BC, and is expected to come into effect as of July 1, 2010. This will impact the overall cost of real estate transactions, adding extra tax to new home construction, purchases and increased taxes on the service charges for all professionals involved in the real estate transaction, such as  lawyers, home inspectors and realtors. Even with the proposed tax rebate program, costs will increase after the first half of 2010- so if you're thinking about buying: NOW IS THE TIME!!!
